Low back pain and pelvic girdle pain affects more than half of all pregnant women, making it difficult for them to cope with, and participate in everyday activities. – Leto Belt can help.

While there can be several factors that can contribute to back and pelvic pain in pregnancy, the most common cause is the increased laxity of the joints of the pelvis (sacroiliac and/or pubic symphysis). The loss of core muscle support from the expanding abdomen and the change centre of gravity can also contribute.

Description

Low back pain and pelvic girdle pain affects more than half of all pregnant women, making it difficult for them to cope with, and participate in everyday activities.

Research shows that the application of a pelvic belt in pregnancy significantly decreases mobility of the sacroiliac joints and provides force closure of the pelvis. The Leto Belt has been designed by Leto Women’s Health Physiotherapists and is designed with function and comfort in mind while also providing extra support. The Leto belt has detachable elastic straps that can be worn either at the back or front, allowing for support to be applied where it is most needed. The Leto Belt can also be worn postnatally if pain persists.
