Sarah Palmer has 10 years experience graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2008 from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and more recently adding Polestar Pilates to her skill set. Sarah is currently working in private practice where she has gained extensive professional experience with all types of injuries; using treatment modalities such as joint alignment, manipulation, massage, acupuncture, rehabilitation and exercise design.
She has worked in the Western Australian mining industry for over 2 years where she gained unique experience in vocational rehabilitation and injury prevention in the workplace. Sarah has experience in working with various sports teams and provided physiotherapy for Counties Manukau Netball for two years.
Sarah has a passion for rehabilitation through exercise and enjoys using Pilates to rehabilitate both acute and chronic spinal injuries. She particularly enjoy’s helping women through pregnancy by providing hands on treatment along side individualized Pilates based programs aimed at maintaining and restoring pelvic floor and deep abdominal strength throughout the different stages of pregnancy.
Sarah can help to address common problems women experience during pregnancy such as pelvic or low back pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction, rib pain, neck pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Post-natally, many women suffer from separated abdominal muscles and core muscle weakness, or pain in their neck and shoulders, back, knees or wrists from looking after their baby.
Sarah is able to provide bespoke treatment and individualized programs to help these woman get back to optimal function during this challenging phase of life.
